I AM ALONE BUT I STILL PERFORM (2021)

‘i am alone but i still perform’ is an experimental short exploring themes of gender, routine, and losing a sense of self in consequence to (unwillingly) wishing to satisfy others. Rooted in personal experience and inspired by the theories of Laura Mulvey and Judith Butler, it has a non-linear and non-sensical narrative, to represent paranoia as a result of the protagonist’s internalised scopophilia through the antagonist of the male gaze.
